World Book Day

April 23 is World Book Day.

“Properly, we should read for power. Man reading should be man intensely alive. The book should be a ball of light in one's hand.” Ezra Pound (1885 - 1972)

If I had to choose just one word to describe what I think about reading I’d go for freedom.

How does reading make you feel? Any book suggestions?

  1. I love reading. It's a pleasure within everybody reach. Reading makes me feel relaxed. I think that the more you read, the more free you are.
I would recommend "Ensayo sobre la ceguera" by José Saramago. It's one of the stunning and shocking novels I've read. It made me reflect about human nature, about how in certain way sometimes we are blind in spite of seeing. It's very interesting and it's worth reading.

  2. Reading... you are able to live in wonderful worlds, you can live others lifes, it's a way for dreaming.

I'd like to read more than I do, but I usually enjoy very much with all I can read in books, emails, web pages...

I'd choose the word "knowledge" to descibe what I think about readinig.

If I had to choose a word for describing what i feel when I'm reading I'd go for freedom or magic.

  4. A book is living other lifes and travelling around other countries. It is looking from another point of view. It is, sometimes, running away from reality.
I wouldn´t dare to recommend someone I don´t know a book. It is too personal. I like García Márquez because he writes whith an easy reading style really beautiful stories.
