We tend to listen to Standard English, but the truth is most English speakers speak with a different accent.
If you want to explore different accents, here is a list of radio stations that might be useful for the purpose: http://www.world-english.org/listening.htm
I like listening to all different accents, but I have a predilection for these two:

Have you ever travelled to any part of an English speaking country and have not been able to understand the locals?
I went to London 2 years ago and I found people speaking english and I have no idea what were saying while I tried to know whatever; but I found people who I was able to understand perfectly. In fact, when I was visiting Wesminster Abbey, I was talking with one volunteer about Isaac Newton, and he said me that I spoke english very well!!! It was a big surprise to me!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's very funny the video where turn up Bill Cosby, and I've remembered his show, I liked it.
I have the feeling you might have heard this accent while in London...
