This year, Queen Elizabeth has highlighted the importance of sport in her Christmas message:

How important do you think sport is? Can sport really help people build a community?

  1. Sport is health, then is very important. Everybody might do exercise or play any sport al least two days per week.

When people practice any sport rise connections with others and this is a way to build and share a community.

  2. Sport is one of the best option to socialize, strenght not only your muscles but also your mind and cooperate to get a common aim. But, on the other hand, as a PE teacher, I must disagree with the limited importance our society gives to sports and physical activity.
It would be unthinking that a person who likes drawing made the plans of your house, it would be done by an architec. Besides, it would be also so unlikely ask for a surgery to a person who liked watching “Dr. House”. However is something terribly usual that a person who likes watching football on TV can write as an expert in a newspaper or coach a children team, without any knowledge around physical activity, Pedagogy or Physcology. What is more, people totally uncultivated, with no knowledge about Anatomy, muscles functioning, etc., can lead a gym. These cases can make sports and physical activity so dangerous for our health.
In conclsuion, I agree with the Queen's message, but only if sport is directed by professional.
