Can you think of any English term that has no equivalent in Spanish, or that in order to be translated a long explanation is required?
A “procrastinator” is a person who prefers doing something tomorrow than doing it today. I thought that it had no Spanish translation (or not in just one word) until I realized that the verb “procrastinar” exists.
ReplyDeleteI´ve heard somewhere that Skimos have lots of words for what we translate just as white. I find it curious. We are not able to discriminate among so similar colours. Maybe it proves that something exists only if there is a word to name it.
